Provenance marks the first series in Douglas Laing and Co's Exceptional Single Casks journey. For Provenance, DLC bottle extraordinary Single Cask Single Malts from a vast range of Scotland’s Whisky Distilleries. Each bottling is offered to you “as natural as it gets” – at 46% alcohol strength or higher, and without colouring or chill-filtration. Casks tend to be refill which helps to highlight each distilleries unique character.

At the start of the highlands, near the picturesque town of Pitlochry lies the Blair Athol distillery. Production is mainly geared towards components for the popular Bells blended whisky, but every now and again a cask makes it's way to the Indie bottlers. The malt produced at Blair Athol is considerably nutty and spicy. It is this character which allows it to show so well in ex-Sherry.

This single cask Blair Athol malt whisky was distilled in 2007 and matured for 12 Years in a refill ex-sherry butt, which certainly comes through in it's character.

From the bottler: "Catch its sherry heritage: dark macerated fruits, home baking and spice. (On the finish the) spices are more apparent - then Malt, followed by a 'cold' minty finish." FHL

700mL, 46% VOL. From a single cask of only 439 bottles.
