Glenburgie 9 Year Old Madeira Finish Scotch Whisky by The Cooper's Choice

The Cooper's Choice range of single cask whiskies from Scotland's finest distilleries are releases from the Family owned Independent Bottlers; The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The range is a homage to the passion and skill of the Coopers, the craftsmen, who build the barrels for maturation of Scotch Whisky. The range focuses on the impact of maturation in oak, and includes several obscure and rare wood finishes.

A single cask release of Glenburgie 9 year old Speyside single malt scotch whisky. After an initial maturation in an American Oak cask this single cask release was finished in an ex Madeira wine cask, adding a sherry-like quality. Lifted aromatic qualities of dark macerated fruits, nuts and spice, with a caramel fudge sweetness across the palate. A long and large finish. Wonderful stuff.

The single cask (#9598) produced only 312 bottles, with the Australian allocation being 36 bottles.
