The Cooper's Choice range of single cask whiskies from Scotland's finest distilleries are releases from the Family owned Independent Bottlers; The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The range is a homage to the passion and skill of the Coopers, the craftsmen, who build the barrels for maturation of Scotch Whisky. The range focuses on the impact of maturation in oak, and includes several obscure and rare wood finishes.
One of the older Indie Ardmore's released of-late, this bottling from The Vintage Malt Whisky Company was distilled in September 2003 before spending 17 years in a single ex-Bourbon Cask prior to bottling without chill filtration or colour additions. Only 306 bottles were produced at a natural cask strength of 48.5% ABV.
Expect lemon and honey on the notes, with dry bonfire peat smoke. The palate is gentle and fully integrated, with notes of vanilla and ginger. The finish if of good length with building fruits and fading peat. A delightful dram for fans of Ardmore.
700ml 48.5%ABV.
