Clynelish 12 year old Diageo Speacial Release 2022 Scotch Whisky

An annual treat...the Diageo Special Releases began in 2001. With more than a score of releases under the belt it's more than fair to suggest that the launch of these releases creates their fair share of noise!

The 2022 releases were curated by Master Blender, Dr. Craig Wilson, whom was tasked with sorting through some 10 million casks to extract some truly exceptional examples from 8 different distilleries for bottling. 

The Highland Clynelish Distillery forms an integral part of the Diageo stable of distilleries, and is known and loved for it's incredible waxy texture, ensuring it is a vital component for the Johnnie Walker blends (most notably the Gold Label 18YO). 

The 2022 Special Release Clynelish 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky was matured initially in refill American Oak before a finish in a mix of PX and Oloroso seasoned casks. The result is an unusual Clynelish, with a touch of the tell-tale waxiness, with added spices and sweetness.

Botted at natural cask strength of 58.5% with no chill-filtration or colour additions.
