Blair Athol 12 Year Old DS Tayman Syrah Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky

DS Tayman is the product of many years’ knowledge, thought and development. Driven to develop an exceptional collection of whiskies, Danny has travelled the length of Scotland to match choice Scotch Whiskies with hand-chosen casks.

 As DS Tayman only bottles malt whisky aged in single casks, you can be assured that each limited-edition expression has a unique taste profile that cannot be recreated.

Blair Athol distillery, owned by Diageo and found in the Highland region of Scotland is firmly in the meaty/rich style of malt. After decent maturation though this depth is met with fantastic silky texture, that makes Blair Athol a distillery well regarded by single malt fans.

This single malt whisky was distilled in November 2009 at the Blair Athol distillery before being placed in a single virgin oak barrel and left to mature for much of it's 12 year maturation period, with a Finish in a single ex-red wine Syrah cask sourced from the Israeli Tulip winery. In January 2022 it was bottled at 46% ABV as part of the 4th Edition releases from DS Tayman. Only 420 bottles were produced.

Nose: "Intensely fruity and rich.  Wine gums, orange peel, caramelised sugar, and lovely old oak spices.."

Palate: "Intensely fruity, syrupy, and bold.  Red wine gums with mandarin essence and rich spices.."

Finish: "Bold and full, with the sweetness of raisins and gentle spices lingering."
