Ardnamurchan AD/ Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 

A relative new-comer (and hidden gem) is Ardnamurchan distillery. Founded by Adelphi Selection (Independent Bottlers) in 2014 on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, the most westerly peninsula on the British mainland; the distillery produces both peated and unpeated styles. Impressively, Ardnamurchan distillery convincingly markets itself as the 'greenest' distillery in Scotland. 

AD is the first 'core range' bottling from Ardnamurchan, however they still flaunt their 'small batch' appeal, with a QR code on the back label taking you to all the information you could possibly want on your bottle. Including batch size, bottling date and who bottled the whisky! It's about full transparency from field to bottle. 

In lose terms the AD single malt scotch whisky release is roughly 50/50 unpeated and peated spirit, with 65% matured in ex-bourbon and 35% ex-sherry casks. 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Orchard fruit, wet pebbles on a beach, oyster shells and eucalyptus

Palate: Tobacco leaves, peppercorns, brine, hay bales and marzipan
