Tobermory 8 Year Old Scalasaig Scotch Whisky
Bottled by Colonsay Beverages, based at the tiny port village of Scalasaig on the Isle of Colonsay, some 10 miles north-west of its much more famous whisky neighbour, Islay. Colonsay beverages produce beer, gin and they bottle exceptional whisky. Whether young or very mature, all the whiskies Colonsay Beverages bottle have one thing in common; they are the very finest examples of what individual island and coastal distilleries have to offer!
The first release in the Scalasaig whisky Single Distillery Vintages Series. These 'series’ take ‘parcels’ of stock laid to mature at exactly the same time, from the same ‘Vintage’. In this case, Scalasaig whisky have married four magnificent casks filled in 2013: numbers 12058, 12059, 12060 and 12061. These whiskies were ‘finished’ for 18 months in the same Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads we used in the Scalasaig Maiden Voyage Blended Malt.
About the Distillery: Tobermory Distillery was first established as Ledaig Distillery in 1798, reputedly producing a peated style of malt whisky. Today, the distillery makes both peated and unpeated whiskies under different labels.
