Ledaig 10 Year Old 2009 Provenance Scotch Whisky
Provenance marks the first series in Douglas Laing and Co's Exceptional Single Casks Scotch Whisky journey. For Provenance, DLC bottle extraordinary Single Cask Single Malts from a vast range of Scotland’s Whisky Distilleries. Each bottling is offered to you “as natural as it gets” – at 46% alcohol strength or higher, and without colouring or chill-filtration. Casks tend to be refill which helps to highlight each distilleries unique spirit character.
From the Tobermory Distillery comes this smoky Ledaig Scotch Whisky from a single cask (cask 14016). The peated whisky was distilled in 2009 and left in a single refill hogshead for a decade, until Douglas Laing bottled it for the Provenance series, with an outturn of 411 bottles. A wonderfully smoky, maritime whisky here.
"Distinctly maritime and oceanic with puffs of smoked meat and new leather. Fulsome with fried pancetta, sweet peat and smoked barley. Medium-long with seaweed, dark chocolate, gingers, rock salt and blueberries." CGL
Another great malt with sweet and peat in perfect harmony. Ledaig Scotch Whisky is a really sought after Whisky, for all the right reasons. Which is mainly it's conviction to be different. Ledaig Whisky is often barn-yardy and pongy, but somehow it works!
700mL. 46% VOL. From a single cask of 411 bottles.
