Ledaig 16 Year Old Scotch Whisky - Single Malts Of Scotland
As an independent bottler, Speciality Drinks Ltd searches for casks from the different distilleries around Scotland, looking for the best malts to share with whisky enthusiasts the world over. Each cask is sampled and only if it is found to be of the best quality will it be bottled in the Single Malts of Scotland range as a Single Cask or as part of a small batch.
Originally Tobermory distillery on the isle of Mull was named Ledaig (Led-chig). These days Ledaig is the name given to peated malt runs off the stills.
Only 226 bottles were produced from a single cask of Ledaig single malt Scotch whisky, which was aged for more than 16years.
Except a nose of smoked bacon and maple syrup pancakes, with salted chocolate and caramel sauce. Subtle floral notes and ripe red fruits permeate. The palate is slightly saline, with dry roasted nuts and subtle pickle notes, with citrus tart fruitiness and baking spices.
Bottled without chill filtration or colour additions at a natural cask strength of 53% ABV.
