Glen Elgin 13 Year Old 2008 Whisky Cellar Scotch Whisky
The Whisky Cellar is an Edinburgh-based independent Scotch Whisky bottler, selecting casks from its private stock at the peak of their character. Founded by Keeper of the Quaich, Keith Bonnington, Keith searches far and wide for casks showing exceptional complexity of flavour and length on the palate.
“Unconstrained by age or statement of vintage, regionality or cask type…if our tasting panel love the whisky enough, we will bottle it.” - Keith Bonnington, Founder.
This 13 year old bottling from the Speyside Glen Elgin distillery was distilled in June 2008, matured in a single cask before a finishing maturation in an ex-sauternes wine cask before bottling in August 2021 by The Whisky Cellars in their series 3 releases for the Private Cellars Selection.
Expect an intensely sweet and honied whisky, with a touches of stone fruits, aniseed and buttery bakes. A superbly long and sweet finish.
Bottled at Cask Strength with no chill filtration. Only 298 bottles produced from the cask.
700ml. 52.5% ABV.
