Pintail Mannochmore 14 Year Old, Tokaji Aszu Finished, Scotch Whisky
The Pintail brand was originally established by Matthew Gloag and Sons in the 1930's for bottling their dry sherries. After the trademark was allowed to lapse it was picked up by Keith Bonnington (Keeper of the Quaich and owner of The Whisky Cellars Independent Bottlers) to create a range of spirits and wines. With a focus on unusual bottlings, and whiskies finished in rare (and often sweet) wine casks, the Pintail range is built around a focus on extremely limited and desirable bottlings.
"Purveyors of Precious Wines & Spirits" is the tagline, with a focus on "precious"!
The Pintail Mannochmore 14 Year Old Tokaji Aszu cask finished scotch whisky was distilled in 2008, spending 13 years in a refill cask before a 6 month finish in an ex-Tokaji Aszu cask from Hungary. Expect a sweet and rich malt with layers of citrus and wine grape fruits, with the Mannochmore malt reminiscent of a digestive biscuit.
700ml. 55.1% ABV.
