Ardnamurchan 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Adelphi Bottlers

Adelphi Selection is a independent bottler of quality Scotch whisky starting in 1993 by Jamie Walker, with a focus on sourcing and bottling exceptional single cask whiskies. Their philosophy centers on selecting only around 4% of the offered casks, based purely on taste, and bottling them at cask strength without artificial coloring or chill-filtration. This meticulous selection process, often overseen by renowned whisky expert Charles MacLean, has earned Adelphi a reputation for quality and rarity, offering whisky enthusiasts unique and flavorful expressions from various distilleries across Scotland. Adelphi further cemented their commitment to whisky by establishing their own distillery, Ardnamurchan, on the remote Ardnamurchan peninsula, marking a return to distilling after over a century.

The Adelphi Selection Ardnamurchan 10 Year Old was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024, representing the distillery’s first official release of a 10 Year Old single malt. This release was created from unpeated Ardnamurchan spirit, highlighting the distillery’s ability to produce a diverse range of whisky styles. The whisky was matured for 10 years in a first fill bourbon barrel (cask #18). The cask imparted flavours of vanilla, honey, and spice, complementing the fruity and floral notes of the unpeated spirit. This whisky was selected and bottled by Adelphi, the independent bottler that owns and operates Ardnamurchan Distillery.
