Mortlach 16 Year Old 2006 Old Particular Scotch Whisky
Since 1948 Douglas Laing and Co have been trailblazers in the Independent Bottling scene. Innovators in packaging and liquid, never afraid to bottle casks of unique and distinct character. The Old Particular range from Douglas Laing represent bottlings of 'particularly' highly sought after casks from across Scotland. Bottled with no-chill filtration or colour additions at higher ABV's.
From the Mortlach Distillery found in the central Speyside region comes this delectable malt Scotch Whisky from a single cask (cask ref DL16549). The rich and unpeated whisky was distilled in 2006 and left in a single refill hogshead for more than 16 years, until Douglas Laing bottled it for their Old Particular/Asia Pacific Friendship series, with an outturn of 213 bottles. A wonderfully viscous and honey'd malt with bright apple fruits.
"Nose: Opens with a fresh Speyside spring morning, carrying Lavendar, honey and Malted barley. Palate: Rich and fulsome with sugar glazed green apple, ginger spice and macadamia nuts. Finish: Toasted oak, more nuts with citrus oil, damson jam and a sweet hint of orange." CSL
700mL. 52% VOL. From a single cask of 213 bottles.
