Highland Park 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky

To me (Simon) Highland Park 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is one of the truly brilliant affordable whiskies on the market place. For a sub $100 whisky to have won as many medals as this it has to really punch above it's weight, and the Highland Park 12 year old Scotch Whisky certainly does that!

Highland Park distillery is found in the town of Kirkwall in the northern isle of Orkney. In times past this small island became the home for invaders from Norway; Vikings. Highland Park embrace this part of their history. They state: "Every drop of our whisky is a tribute to our ancestors - especially our 12 Year Old. Predominantly aged in sherry seasoned European and American oak casks, our 12 Year Old boasts warm wintery spices that are engulfed in waves of smoky honey, fruitcake and heather."
