Girvan 16 year old 2006 Oloroso Finish Scotch Whisky by The Cooper's Choice

The Cooper's Choice range of single cask whiskies from Scotland's finest distilleries are releases from the Family owned Independent Bottlers; The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The range is a homage to the passion and skill of the Coopers, the craftsmen, who build the barrels for maturation of Scotch Whisky. The range focuses on the impact of maturation in oak, and includes several obscure and rare wood finishes.

A single cask, single grain bottling from the lowland Girvan distillery. Girvan is the continuous distillery owned by William Grant and Sons (Glenfiddich, Balvenie), and is known for efficiency and sustainability with the site being net electricity generators from biofuel from the production. 

This single cask bottling was finished in a truly exceptional ex-oloroso sherry cask. Not to be missed.

Nose: Mouthwatering vanilla fudge with dried fruits and orange zest

Palate: Rich sherry notes with marshmallows, bourbon biscuits and pencil shavings. Delightful soft oakiness with rich Christmas cake spices. Beautifully balanced

Finish: Long lasting. More fruit and spice. Simply stunning

The single cask (#523223) produced only 600bottles, with the Australian allocation being 12 bottles.
