The Cooper's Choice Bunnahabhain "Smoke & Sherry" Amontillado Finish Scotch Whisky

The Cooper's Choice range of single cask whiskies from Scotland's finest distilleries are releases from the Family owned Independent Bottlers; The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The range is a homage to the passion and skill of the Coopers, the craftsmen, who build the barrels for maturation of Scotch Whisky. The range focuses on the impact of maturation in oak, and includes several obscure and rare wood finishes.

This single cask bottling of Islay single malt distilled at the Bunnahabhain distillery has been stage-named "Smoke & Sherry". After an initial maturation in an American Oak cask this single cask release was finished in an ex-Amontillado sherry cask, adding a notes of nuts and dried fruits. A very well balanced malt, with a tremendously long finish. Fans of peated Bunnahabhain will not be disappointed! 

Nose: Sweet tobacco smoke

Palate: Sooty liquid smoke with dried fruits and salted caramel notes. Delicious and mouth coating.

Finish: Long lasting with more smoke and a slight woody aftertaste.

The single cask (#717) produced only 300 bottles, with the Australian allocation being 42 bottles.
