A 47 year old single grain from the now closed Garnheath distiller, bottled for the Xtra Old Particular range by Douglas Laing. This one was matured from February 1974 to March 2021 in a single refill barrel (cask 14618), and then bottled at cask strength with miniscule outturn of only 124 bottles.
"The nose delivers an incredible vanilla sweetness immediately followed by wood shavings and boiled sweets, the palate burst with fresh fruit salad, pineapple chunks in syrup and a honey'd cereal style. The lingering finish reveals sugar-coated raspberries with vanilla cream, oat biscuits and charred oak". CSL
