Glenrothes 8 year old 2014 Marsala Finish Scotch Whisky by The Cooper's Choice

The Cooper's Choice range of single cask whiskies from Scotland's finest distilleries are releases from the Family owned Independent Bottlers; The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The range is a homage to the passion and skill of the Coopers, the craftsmen, who build the barrels for maturation of Scotch Whisky. The range focuses on the impact of maturation in oak, and includes several obscure and rare wood finishes.

This is a single cask bottling of Glenrothes whisky, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2023. Initially matured in American oak before a finish in ex-Marsala cask, creating a sweet and fruity whisky with plenty of spice. The Glenrothes fruity malt character comes through with exceptional clarity.

Nose:  Fruit and spices with notes of stewed pears

Palate: Medium bodied. Dried fruits with brown sugar, nutmeg, and baking spices. Caramel and ginger

Finish: Medium length with the palate flavours reinforced.

The single cask (#14472) produced only 378 bottles, with the Australian allocation being 6 bottles.
