Teaninich 2012/9 year old Carn Mor Strictly Limited Scotch Whisky

The Carn Mor Strictly Limited range of Scotch Whisky from the Family-owned Independent Bottlers, Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, are a collection of Scotch whiskies from some of the finest distilleries in Scotland. What makes the whiskies so special is that all the whiskies are non-chill-filtered to keep all of the oils and proteins that give it that fantastic authentic and non-doctored flavour in the bottle. As real as it gets.

This 9 year old scotch whisky was distilled in 2012 at the Highland Teaninich distillery. the whisky was fully matured in refill ex-sherry butts. Prior to bottling the whisky was proofed back to 47.5% ABV, with no chill-filtration or colour added. 1281 bottles were produced.

One of the bigger butterscotch noses we've seen for a while. Alongside the butterscotch, there is more butterscotch, and then perhaps some fruitcake and orange peel. This malt has a lovely oily texture that sits so well in the mouth you tend to not want to swallow. A rich and lux style, but the dried barley malt still shines through.  A perfect dram for a cold evening.
