Bunnahabhain 11 Year Old Gordon and Macphail Discovery Series Scotch Whisky

The 'Discovery Series' from Independent bottlers Gordon and Macphail are an exploration of some of the bold Scotch styles; sherried, smoky or bourbon. The Bunnahabhain 11 year old scotch whisky from Gordon and Macphail sits firmly in the 'sherried' camp.

A great example of both a heavily ex-sherry style, and of a coastal Bunnahabhain whisky. The nose has lovely marmalade citrus notes with a fruit syrup quality and a  salty coastal hit. Nice! The palate is sweet, but complex with flavours reminiscent of a damp forest floor, orange pith, ginger bread cookies and a seaweed like umami character. A lovely oily texture ensures the finish is long and sustained.
