This 22 year old was distilled on the 5th of September 1997 (my 15th Birthday!), the year Bunnahabhain began distilling some peated malts after a significant hiatus. The majority of the maturation period took place in traditional ex-whisky casks, before being transferred to ex-Pedro Ximinez Sherry casks on the 16th of May 2016, for a long 4 year finish!

Moine PX is a limited edition single malt of exceptional character, finished in sherry casks for a peaty richness of smoke and pepper that is matched only by its sweetly beguiling flavours of vanilla, figs, roasted nuts and caramel.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Rich Amber.

Nose: Sultanas, figs & dreid fruit with sweet berries, balanced with a peppery smokiness.

Palate: Roasted nuts, fig rolls, vanilla and caramel, sweet mouth feel with a layered character – sweet and fruity developing to peppery smoke.

Finish: Peppery sweet.
