Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old Cask Strength 2022 Scotch Whisky

The Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old 2022 Cask Strength Scotch Whisky is the 2nd annual release of the natural cask strength spin on the massively popular Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old at the higher natural ABV of 56.6%.  It's unpeated, sherried and spicy with more intense and rich flavours of dried fruit and spice compared to the more gentle 2021 release.

Mainly matured in first and second fill Oloroso sherry casks with a small percentage of Bourbon barrels to balance out the flavours, this whisky offers a 'behind the scenes peek' into the Bunnahabhain spirit before it goes to Master Blender; Julieann Fernandez, to work her magic to create the iconic Bunnahabhain 12 year old single malt Scotch Whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Initial notes of creamy milk chocolate, red berries and sweet dried fruit are balanced with classic Oloroso spiciness and a hint of cloves.

Palate: Toasted nuts, salted caramel and chocolate covered raisins are intertwined with crisp apple, poached pears and a dusting of cinnamon.

Finish: A sweet long finish with cocoa, cherries and a light sea spray.
