AD/ Ardnamurchan Sauternes Cask Release Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 

This AD/ Ardnamurchan Sauternes Cask Release 202 release is from a batch of 5,990 bottles from Ardnamurchan distillery. A QR code on the back label will provide you with all the information you could possibly want on your bottle. Including batch size, bottling date and who bottled the whisky! It's about full transparency from field to bottle. 

A relative new-comer (and hidden gem) in the single malt Scotch Whisky scene is Ardnamurchan distillery. Founded by Adelphi Selection (Independent Bottlers) in 2014 on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, the most westerly peninsula on the British mainland; the distillery produces both peated and unpeated styles. Impressively, Ardnamurchan distillery convincingly markets itself as the 'greenest' distillery in Scotland. 

The AD/ Sauternes Cask Release 2024 is from 100% ex-sauternes cask and all unpeated spirit. The casks were all filled in 2016. 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Apricot Jam, Almond flakes, marzipan, Brioche, dried stone fruit

Palate: Seeded bread, green peppercorn sauce, apricot, heather honey, more savoury than the nose

Finish: Less sweet than the nose, wonderfully balanced with a dry finish.
