Kilchoman Special Release PX Cask matured Scotch Whisky

The Kilchoman Distillery has released something very special for 2023. A small batch release of 23,000 bottles of Kilchoman single malt whisky matured in ex-Pedro Ximenez casks for a minimum of 5 years. The casks previously held sherry for Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin of Jerez, Spain. The PX cask maturation has added layers of rich & dark sweet fruitiness which balances beautifully with Kilchoman's bright citrusy malt and peat smoke.!

expect:

Nose: Sweet sultanas and raisins with rounded peat smoke and layers of liquorice and hints of citrus sweetness.

Palate:  Brown sugar and malty sweetness then orange peel, citrus, dark chocolate and waves of sherry richness.

Finish: Chocolate coated raisins, oak smoke, mixed spices and lasting PX sweetness.
