Ruadh Maor 11 Year Old 2010 Whisky Cellar Scotch Whisky
The Whisky Cellar is an Edinburgh-based independent Scotch Whisky bottler, selecting casks from its private stock at the peak of their character. Founded by Keeper of the Quaich, Keith Bonnington, Keith searches far and wide for casks showing exceptional complexity of flavour and length on the palate.
“Unconstrained by age or statement of vintage, regionality or cask type…if our tasting panel love the whisky enough, we will bottle it.” - Keith Bonnington, Founder.
This 11 year old bottling from the Highland Glenturret distillery (Ruadh Maor being the name given to peated whisky produced at Glenturret) was distilled in February 2010, matured in a single refill ex-Sherry butt before bottling in August 2021 by The Whisky Cellars in their series 3 releases for the Private Cellars Selection.
Expect smokehouse aromas, smoked meats with a sweet BBQ glaze and chocolate covered raisins. The finish has sustained savoury meat roasting juices with a dusting of sugar and sweet spice. An extremely well balanced whisky.
Bottled at Cask Strength with no chill filtration. Only 719 bottles produced from the cask.
700ml. 55.3 % ABV.
