Ardbeg 10 Year Old Scotch Whisky
The Ardbeg distillery lies on the most southerly part of Islay on the rugged shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Since 1815 (the same year Laphroaig was founded) Ardbeg distillery has been producing a heavily peated and coastal style of Scotch whisky.
The Ardbeg 10 year old single malt Scotch whisky is arguable the greatest of the 'entry' level peated Islay Scotch whiskies, being non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV, retaining maximum flavour and texture.
In typical Ardbeg fashion the 10 year old is full-on peat smoke with lemon and lime citrus notes. Touces of black pepper and cinnamon spice, with coastal brine meet ripe tropical fruits and currants. As the whisky lengthens in the palate flavours of espresso coffee, aniseed and rich peat smoke grow as teh tongue is coated wtih chewy peat oils.
Sea Spray, Tarry rope. Immense smoky intensity.
