Glen Grant 1965 43 Year Old Carn Mor Celebration of the Cask Scotch Whisky
The Carn Mor Celebration of the Cask range of Single Cask Whisky from the family-owned independent bottlers, Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, are a very limited range from distilleries all over Scotland. All the bottles are numbered and once they are gone they cannot be replaced as they are from one-off bottlings from a single cask. The Carn Mor Celebration of the Cask Scotch Whiskies are bottled at cask strength and are all non-chill filtered.
This 1965 vintage bottling of single cask of Glen Grant scotch whisky was bottled in 2008. A historic bottling sure to attract lovers of Glen Grant and collectors alike. This cask 2136 was one (if not 'the') first single casks bottled by the then newly formed 'Morrison & Mackay', now 'Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers'. We have a single bottle, number 121 from 121 bottles from the cask, marking the final bottle from the barrel.
For a 43 year old single malt, the alcohol remains significantly high for such a maturation, indicating what is proved by the liquid, that the liquid remains surprisingly fresh. Bright acids and classic Glen Grant orchard fruitiness is met with elegant oak character.
